Set up a "remodel zone"
- Identify one part of the home that stays untouched and clean. Phone chargers, coffee, kids toys — all live there.
Communicate weekly
- One weekly walk-through with the project manager catches 90% of issues before they grow.
Protect what stays
- Cover floors, art, and pathways. Even with careful crews, dust travels. We use dust barriers — make sure yours does too.
Pets and kids
- Keep pets out of work zones during demo days. Talk to kids about safety rules around tools and materials.
Trust the process
- Remodels look worse before they look better. The framing-stage panic is normal — keep showing up to your plan.
